German-American Dreams
Fresh from our successful tour of Germany, the ASQ brings this special program to audiences in Wisconsin.
With mezzo-soprano Melinda Paulsen, who serves on the voice faculty of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt, we’ve put together a wonderful program of works for mezzo and string quartet, by German and American composers.
We just returned from Germany, where we performed to critical acclaim in Nieder-Olm (see review, left, in the Mainzer Allgemeine Zeitung), Frankfurt, Vellmar, Schlitz, and St. Goar on the Rhine.
We will perform this program seven times in Wisconsin from September 4-9, Click on the Schedule page of our website for further details.
Our second stop will be a live interview with Norman Gilliland, classical music host of The Midday on Wisconsin Public Radio, on Wednesday, Sep. 5 at 12 noon.
For this occasion we’ll perform two works by Samuel Barber: his String Quartet in B Minor, Op. 11 (the work which includes the iconic Barber Adagio), followed by a performance with Melinda Paulsen of Dover Beach.
