The ASQ is touring Germany! We are thrilled to collaborate with mezzo-soprano Melinda Paulsen, who serves on the voice faculty of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt.
We’ve put together a wonderful program of works for mezzo and string quartet, by German and American composers, and we’ll present this program first in Germany and then in Wisconsin, USA.
Our first stop on our German tour will be the Town Hall (Rathaus) in Nieder-Olm, a town south of Mainz, Southwest of Frankfurt.
You can read the notice (in German) on the Rathaus website by clicking here.
Here is the article (also in German) in the Nieder-Olmer Nachrichtsblatt:
Melancholie, Op. 13 (1919) Paul Hindemith
Dover Beach (1931) Samuel Barber
Drei Lieder (Three Songs) (1943) Viktor Ullmann
Quartet in B Minor, Op. 11 (1936) Samuel Barber
