Our upcoming recital features three works, from three centuries, all three infused with romance. Shostakovich’s 7th Quartet is dedicated to his wife Nina, composer Niels Gade is seen as the father of Danish Romanticism, and Beethoven’s Op. 18 #1 includes a depiction of the tomb scene from Romeo and Juliet.
Catch us at St. Andrew’s on Regent Street this Saturday evening, or at Sunday Afternoon Live at the Chazen, on August 6.
Jacob Stockinger highlighted out recital in this morning’s blog post on The Well-Tempered Ear, which you can read here.
